Devakottai

Devakottai is a first-grade district in the territory of Tamil Nadu, India. Situated in the Sivaganga area, the town is arranged near the city of Karaikudi, close Rameswaram National Highway Road (NH-210). It is one of the real urban communities goes under the Chettinad region with rich legacy of houses worked with limestone called "Karai Veedu".It is the Second biggest city in the area after Karaikudi.This Region is one of the towns in Chettinad belt. The town is well known for its old sanctuary Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar sanctuary otherwise called Nagara Sivan Kovil.
