Golkonda, otherwise called Golconda, Gol konda ("Round molded slope"), or Golla konda, (Shepherd's Hill) is a fortification and post in Southern India and was the capital of the medieval sultanate of the Qutb Shahi tradition (c.1512– 1687), is arranged 11 km (6.8 mi) west of Hyderabad. It is likewise a tehsil of Hyderabad locale, Telangana, India.
